Garage doors · Tilt-door replacement

Flex‑A‑Door®.

Garador’s answer to the old tilt door: a roller curtain on a curving track that lifts to lie flat near the ceiling. It fits behind the opening, needs as little as 80 mm above it, and won’t blow shut in the wind.

How it works

How each door opens.

The space above your opening, called headroom, often decides which door fits.

Sectional

Hinged panels rise straight up, then slide back along the ceiling on tracks. You can park close to the door, inside and out.

Roller door

One steel curtain rolls up into a drum above the opening, so there are no tracks along the ceiling. It needs about 400 mm above the opening.

Old tilt door

Swings out over the driveway as it opens, and can blow shut in the wind. Flex‑A‑Door is Garador’s alternative: it fits behind the opening and won’t blow shut.

Why replace a tilt door

Tilt doors swing out, blow shut and leak.

A tilt door needs the driveway clear to open, can slam shut in a gust, and leaves a gap each side where the wind comes through. Flex‑A‑Door fits behind the opening on a track, so none of that happens.

  • Won’t blow shut in the wind
  • No gap down each side
  • Fits unusual openings, including arches

Quiet, safe, secure

Safe for a family garage.

Nylofelt® running strips and nylon rollers keep it quiet with no grease. The extension springs sit enclosed above head height, out of reach, and there are no moving brackets to catch fingers. The waist-height centre lock is pick-resistant and sits behind the opening.

The details

A tidy finish inside and out.

A retractable head infill panel closes the gap above the door. Where a Flex‑A‑Door sits next to a roller door, the two curtains match.

Flex‑A‑Door questions

Still unsure? Call 09 550 8868 and talk to our Albany team.

Will it fit where my tilt door is?

Usually, yes. Flex‑A‑Door needs as little as 80 mm above the opening when opened by hand and 100 mm each side, and it fits behind the opening, so arched and odd-shaped openings work too. We confirm at the free measure.

Can it be automated?

Yes, with a Garador roller-door opener; it then needs 130 mm of headroom.

Can I leave it half open?

Yes. The curtain stays at any height, which is handy for ventilation while keeping privacy.
