Sectional doors

Insulated doors.

Six sectional styles have Garador’s New Zealand-made textile insulation built into the panels, which keeps the garage warmer in winter, cooler in summer and quieter all year.

Why insulate

A garage that works as a room.

  • Comfort all year

Less heat in and out through the biggest opening in the house, which matters most when the garage is attached.

  • Quieter

Insulation cuts traffic noise coming in and workshop noise going out.

  • A tight fit

Made to measure, so the insulated panels seal properly against the opening.

  • Same warranty

Covered by Garador’s standard and Reliability warranties like any other sectional door.

Factory-fitted

Fitted when the door is made.

Garador fits the insulation when the door is made, so the panel, springs and opener are set up for its weight from day one. Adding after-market insulation to an existing door changes its balance and usually means new springs, which only a technician should fit.

Where it pays off

Attached garages, workshops and gyms.

If the garage shares a wall or a ceiling with the house, or you spend time in it, insulation is the upgrade people notice most. Garador does not publish an R-value, so ask us what to expect for your garage.

Insulation questions

Still unsure? Call 09 550 8868 and talk to our Albany team.

Can I add insulation to the door I already have?

Sometimes, but the extra weight means new springs and a re-balanced door, and an opener can be strained without it showing. We’d rather look at your door first. Replacing it with a factory-insulated Garador door is often the better value.

Does an insulated door need a different opener?

It needs an opener rated for the door’s weight. We match the opener to the door at the measure; the Genius HD is the heavy-duty option.

Is there an R-value?

No. Garador doesn’t publish one. The difference is biggest in attached garages and in rooms you use.
